Summer Fun at Curiosum

From June 24 to August 18, we offer a variety of fun and educational activities for all ages! Conduct amazing experiments, explore our exciting exhibitions, and challenge your creativity in our brand-new LEGO workshop. Don’t miss the chance to visit our immersive dome theater for extraordinary film adventures! Open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM.

Labs and Activities

In the Chemistry Lab

Become a chemist for a day and discover our chemistry lab this summer. Every day, you can try out a fascinating experiment – exciting for both kids and adults!

Learn more about this summer’s chemistry lab activities:

Bubbly Bath Bombs (Monday, June 24 – Sunday, July 7)
Explore the chemistry behind bath bombs and what makes them fizz so spectacularly in water. You can also make your own bath bomb to take home!

Super Soap Bubbles (Monday, July 8 – Sunday, July 21)
Experiment and discover the secret ingredient in our super soap bubble mix. How big can you make your super soap bubbles? Test it out in this chemistry lab!

Solve the Powder Mystery! (Monday, July 22 – Sunday, August 4)
Professor Strul has mixed up her chemicals. Help her figure out which substance is which.

DNA from Strawberries (Monday, August 5 – Sunday, August 18)
DNA contains the instructions to make you who you are! Have you ever held DNA in your hand? Learn how to extract DNA from a strawberry.

The chemistry lab is open at specific times and led by our on-site guides. Limited spots are available, and a ticket system is used during high visitor numbers. Tickets are available outside the lab 60 minutes before the activity starts. Program changes may occur.

 

In the Technology Lab:

Challenge your creativity and technical skills this summer by visiting our technology lab! Every day, you can try a fun activity focused on technology.

Space Escape! (Monday, June 24 – Sunday, July 14)
In this thrilling escape game, you are the crew of Apollo 13. Your mission is to land on the moon, but something goes wrong. Work together to solve problems and return safely to Earth before time runs out! (Recommended for ages 10 and up.)

Open Robotics Lab (Monday, July 15 – Sunday, August 4)
Try programming both large and small robots and let them complete exciting tasks!

Glowing Paper Helicopter (Monday, August 5 – Sunday, August 18)
Discover air resistance and electronics in this fun technology lab! Construct a paper helicopter and learn to make a simple circuit. Can you make your helicopter glow? (Recommended for ages 6 and up.)

In Makerspace - Robot Chaos! 

Tuesdays, wednesdays and thursdays during July and August. For ages 7 and up!

This summer, robots are taking over the Makerspace! In this activity, you have the chance to design and build your own robot using various materials to test and explore how robots work.

This activity is developed and designed by Mika Sinclair as part of her Master’s degree in Interaction Design.

Dome Theater Shows

Embark on thrilling adventures into space and other worlds in our immersive dome theater. All dome theater screenings are included in the entrance fee during the summer.

  • Build and Construct – Challenge your imagination and build with LEGO, 4D-frame, and other blocks of various sizes and materials.
  • Augmented Reality Sandbox – Shape sand into a virtual topographical landscape.
  • Create a Bee Garden – Paint the blooming plants that bees love and put them on the wall. By the end of summer, the wall will be blooming with color thanks to your help.
  • Program a Bibot – Try simple programming with these cute robots.
  • Stop Motion – Create your own film stories and adventures using stop motion.
  • Origami – Try folding dinosaurs or something else beautiful in our origami corner.
  • Play Games and Solve Puzzles – Enjoy both classic games and new challenges!
